On April 15th 2008 at 3 am GMT we have observed the first Bose-Einstein condensate of 87Rb in our new setup. In brief, we laser cool 109 atoms in a vapor cell magneto-optical trap, magnetically transport them into a UHV chamber and load them into a magnetic QUIC trap. After 35 seconds of evaporation we obtain a Bose-Einstein in the F=2, mF=2 state with some 3*105 atoms.
