Strontium atoms within an optical lattice

position expired
Institute of Physics of São Carlos, University of São Paulo (IFSC - USP), São Carlos - SP, Brazil
This project aims at implementing an optical dipole lattice on a cold Strontium machine, already able to produce a MOT of bosonic Strontium. The objective is to study the atomic dynamics in the lattice and its interaction with an optical cavity. The candidate will manage a team already working on this ongoing project, will build the setup, characterize and look for the aimed scientific results. To apply to this position, please submit a letter of interest, CV and contact details of two referees to: raulcteixeira@gmail.com and philippe.courteille@ifsc.usp.br. This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP's Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7174.80 monthly (~US$ 2.150, tax-free); a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship, is available to be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
