Quantum fields in the lab: PhD-position on BEC experiments
Quantum fields in the lab
We are looking for a highly motivated PhD-student who wants to join us on our experimental adventure in our new ultra-cold atom lab. Since last year we have robust Bose-Einstein production and we are now gearing up for original experiments in the realm of out-of-equilibrium quantum field theory.
Prior experience on theoretical or experimental facets of cold atom physics is a plus (e.g. on BEC physics, Gross-Pitaevskii and Bogoliubov analysis, image analysis, laser calibration, field tuning), but it is not a must. Far more important is the willingness to jump into the project and learn the required methods and techniques as they come along.
Apply before June 30 by sending your CV and motivation letter to karel.vanacoleyen@ugent.be. In addition arrange for two reference letters to be sent to the same address.
