Postdoctoral Research Associate in AMO Physics

The Department of Physics at the University of Virginia is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to do experimental work in atomic physics.

The successful candidate will help develop a Sagnac interferometer gyroscope using atoms trapped on an atom chip. Experience with atom chips is preferred, and experience with atom interferometry and Bose-Einstein condensates is also valuable. Candidates should have a strong record of research achievement in atomic physics or a related discipline. The project will be part of the DARPA A-PhI program, and includes opportunities to collaborate with industry partners Northrop Grumman, ColdQuanta, and Space Dynamics Lab.

QUALIFCATION REQUIRMENTS: The completion of a Ph.D. degree in Physics or closely related field by appointment start date is required.
