Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 March 2016 in the first instance. The Atomic, Mesoscopic and Optical Physics (AMOP) Group of the Department of Physics, University of Cambridge, invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate to work on cutting edge experiments with atomic Bose-Einstein condensates. The Group conducts a broad programme of research from Bose-Einstein condensates to quantum dots, with quantum coherence as the underlying theme. This post will be affiliated with the Quantum Gases & Collective Phenomena Research Unit within AMOP. The focus of the work will be on non-equilibrium many-body phenomena in quantum-degenerate Bose gases with tuneable interactions. The post requires extensive experience in experimental atomic physics, documented in an excellent publication track-record. Deep theoretical knowledge of atomic and quantum many-body physics is also expected. A PhD in Physics, Engineering or a related discipline is required. Expenses for travel associated with the project are provided. The position has a tentative starting date of 1 October 2014.
