Post-doctoral position in experimental ultracold AMO science
We are setting up a new laboratory and are interested in investigating the physics and chemistry of atoms, ions and molecules at ultralow temperatures. The candidate will be expected to help in building the set-up, guiding students and actively participate in various projects.
Essential: PhD in Physics or a related discipline. Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in experimental atomic physics.
Desirable: Knowledge of cold atoms / molecules / trapped ions / quantum optics. Experience in writing journal papers in English.
The salary is approximately Rs. 60000 including House Rent Allowance. The position is initially available for one year, and may be extended up to two or three depending on yearly performance evaluation. Exceptional candidates may be considered for the TIFR Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship. Higher salary may be possible if the candidate is able to secure prestigious fellowships such as NPDF, DST-INSPIRE etc.
