Post-doctoral position in experimental ultracold AMO science
The projects in our laboratory include a variety of systems involving trapped ions, ultracold atoms and molecules and quantum optics. The candidate will be expected to participate in building experimental set-ups, data collection / analysis, guiding students and actively engage with the group.
Essential: PhD in Physics or a related discipline. Demonstrated ability to conduct research in experimental physics, chemical physics or applied sciences. Candidates expecting PhD degree by December 2020 are also welcome to apply.
Desirable: Knowledge of cold atoms / molecules / trapped ions / quantum optics.
The salary is approximately Rs. 60000 including House Rent Allowance. The position is typically for two years and can be extended to three depending on performance evaluation. Exceptional candidates may be considered for the TIFR Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship. Higher salary may be possible if the candidate is able to secure prestigious fellowships such as NPDF, DST-INSPIRE etc.
