A postdoctoral position in the research area of theoretical quantum optics/cold atoms/atomic physics/condensed matter to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a stimulating surroundings.
The successful candidate while employed in Krakow will be working in the research group of Prof. Mariusz Gajda, Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw (gajda@ifpan.edu.pl). She/he will be involved in the emerging research activities within the scope of the EU FET-ProActive project QUIC ("QUantum Insulators and Conductors", starting 2015) on various aspects of quantum simulators theory of insulating systems (Mott insulators, band insulators, quantum Hall insulators, topological insulators), and conducting systems (superconductivity of various type, supesolids, exotic superfluids, exotic metals).
The job is initially for 12 months, possible extension up to 24 months total. Preferred starting date 1 September 2015.
The successful candidates will participate in the theoretical work on physics of superfluid-insulator transitions and strongly correlated phases, and topological and exotic phases in gauge fields.
