PhD and Postdoc positions on dissipative quantum many-body theory
position expired
Leibniz University Hannover, Germany
The Institute for Theoretical Physics invites applications for
Postdoctoral Positions
(Salary Group 13 TV-L)
to be filled on 1 October 2014 or on a later date for a duration of one year with a possible extension and for
PhD Candidates

Job description
The openings are within the research group of Dr. Hendrik Weimer and are funded by the Volkswagen Foundation within the project "Quantum States on Demand". The successful candidates are expected to work on projects focussed on quantum many-body physics, dissipative quantum systems, quantum information, quantum optics, Rydberg atoms, ultracold polar molecules, and nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond. The projects include possibilities for collaboration with leading experimental groups. PhD candidates can participate in the DFG Research Training Group "Fundamentals and applications of ultra- cold matter".
Requirements
Applicants must hold a PhD degree (for Postdoctoral positions) or a Master degree or equivalent (for PhD candidates) or must obtain the degree prior to beginning of employment.
