Optical Physicist We seek a new or recent PhD graduate to join our Photonics enterprise. The ideal applicant should be interested in a career devoted to applied research and development. Candidates should be highly motivated individuals with an experimental background in atomic or optical physics. Candidates should have a strong desire to develop independent research programs, as well as have relevant experience, publications, and a record of innovation so as to contribute to existing programs in one or more of the following areas: - Design and fabrication of atom sensors, including: • Vapor cell atom sensors such as atomic clocks and atomic magnetometers • Cold atom (magneto-optic trap, MOT), trapped ion, or ultracold atom (Bose-Einstein condensate, BEC) systems • spectroscopy and atom / laser interactions • quantum information and communication • compact laser and optical component design and implementation • associated control electronics • coherent detection Recent Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, or Electrical Engineering required.
