To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the HKU Faculty of Science, we are recruiting a cohort of approximately thirty 80th Anniversary professors. This is an unprecedented expansion focused on realizing the Faculty’s vision to be pre-eminent in Hong Kong, leading in Asia, and highly competitive globally. We are aiming to expand by about 20% over the next year.
Within the Research Division of Physics and Astronomy, there are multiple openings. The Division has key expertise in quantum matter and low dimensional materials, functional materials, high energy astrophysics and stellar astrophysics. We are looking to build on existing strengths and expand our research by recruiting in the areas of:
- condensed matter physics
- atomic molecular and optical physics
- high energy astrophysics
Applications are invited for tenure-track appointments as Associate Professor/Assistant Professor, to commence on or before September 30, 2018. The posts will initially be made on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year appointment.
