The Chinese of University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) will organize an international conference in Hong Kong on " Frontiers of Cold Atoms and Related Topics". The goal is to discuss the most exciting topics and the latest developments in the field of cold atoms. A number of important related topics will also be included. The conference will be a timely event, as there have been truly remarkable developments in practically all the subfields in this area in the last a few years. At the same time, there have been rapidly growing experimental and theoretical efforts in cold atoms research in Asia. We believe the conference will help facilitate communications and interactions between the new groups in Asia and the major groups in different continents.

We will also celebrate in the banquet the 60th birthday of Tin-Lun (Jason) Ho for his contributions in the field of cold atoms, as well as his efforts to promote cold atom research in China.

The conference will accommodate about 100 participants. The first three days (May 14-16) will be held at CUHK. HKUST will host the last day (May 17). The conference website containing application information and a preliminary list of speakers will be announced in January.

Questions with regard to the conference should be directed to Qi Zhou at qizhou@phy.cuhk.edu.hk
