Casimir Effect and Heat Transfer

This workshop deals with the fields of quantum electrodynamics and light-matter interaction in elementary and complex quantum systems. In particular main topics will be: quantum thermodynamics, quantum radiative heat transfer, Casimir effect in and out of thermal equilibrium, quantum thermalization mechanisms, quantum thermal machines, ultracold quantum gases, entanglement, light harvesting complexes. This Focus session of PIERS 2015 will concentrate on recent cut-edge theoretical and experimental findings, with the aim of boosting these emerging research fields toward a deeper fundamental and applicative development.
