Two theoretical postdocs: Nonequilibrium superfluids and quantum thermodynamics with quantum gases

position expired
University of Queensland, Brisbane Australia AU

This recruitment comprises two distinct roles of up to three years duration, each aligned to newly funded Australian Research Council Discovery Projects exploring nonequilibrium quantum systems lead by Prof. Matthew Davis.

One role focuses on nonequilibrium superfluids, with particular emphasis on controlling superfluid transport through spatially engineered dissipation, in collaboration with Prof. Andrew Daley at the University of Oxford.

The second role focuses on quantum thermodynamics, addressing fundamental questions in quantum statistical mechanics and quantum many-body systems. This is in collaboration with Prof. Janet Anders at the University of Exeter.
