Postdoctoral position on the Theory of ultracold quantum gases

position expired
Hannover Germany DE

The theory group of Prof. Luis Santos (Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany) invites applications for a postdoctoral position on the theory of ultra-cold quantum gases. The position is initially for two years, with the possibility of prolonging it for an additional year. We would like to cover the position as soon as possible, however the time of joining is negotiable.

Ultracold quantum gases constitute a fascinating research field at the interface between quantum optics, atomic physics, and condensed-matter physics. Our theory group works in a variety of topics in this vibrant area. Possible topics of research include among others the physics of dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates and supersolids, dipolar mixtures, and the non-equilibrium dynamics of many-body quantum systems in optical lattices. For more information about our current and recent research interests, please visit our webpage: https://www.itp.uni-hannover.de/en/groups/santos/

We are part of a vibrant environment, including collaborations with experiments on ultracold atoms, molecules and trapped ions. The team works in an excellent national and international network and participates in large collaborative projects, including the Excellence Cluster “QuantumFrontiers“ (https://www.quantumfrontiers.de/en/) and the Quantum Valley Lower Saxony (https://www.qvls-q1.de/en/).
